BHF - New e-health centres opened

Four new e-health centres we are co-funding have been officially opened.

The health centres are based in London, Dundee, Swansea and Manchester. They will take up the challenge of using the vast amount of information generated by electronic health records to make new discoveries about diseases, including heart disease.

Thanks to donations from our supporters, BHF have provided £1 million to support the centres, which are funded by a group of Government and charitable organisations led by the Medical Research Council, a Government body.

The research centres will combine and analyse patient data – from GP surgeries and hospitals, for example. They could improve our understanding of diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, and even identify more effective future treatments and improve drug safety.

Our life-saving research

BHF can only fund all of our life-saving research thanks to the generous support of members of the public. Please donate today to help us win the fight against heart disease.
