Upcoming eSeminar 'Advances in Food Safety Analysis - Contaminants, Toxins and Allergens' features a presentation from Michael Walker

The Government Chemist has been invited to provide a presentation to a forthcoming Separation Science online seminar: ‘Advances in Food Safety Analysis – Contaminants, Toxins and Allergens’.

This seminar brings together some of the leading exponents in food safety analysis and provides a learning environment for scientists working in these fields. It takes place in two 2-hour sessions on 27 and 29 September.

The focus of this eSeminar is food fraud and authenticity testing and specifically the analysis of contaminants, toxins and allergens.

In his session on 27 September, Michael Walker will provide an overview of testing methods, their advantages and disadvantages, and the current issues in allergen analysis. Michael will also discuss challenges involved in interpreting results which are caused by not having an established limit for the presence of allergenic protein in food stuff.
