The Chancellor has written to Richard Hughes, Chair of the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), ahead of a statement to Parliament on 29 July. The letter asks the OBR to prepare an official economic and fiscal forecast for a Budget on 30 October and updates on the spending audit including setting out a series of changes to strengthen the spending framework.
