Active travel funding allocations for local transport authorities, as part of integrated and consolidated transport settlements for financial years 2026 to 2030.
The funding supports local transport authorities in England outside London to provide a range of initiatives including:
- development and construction of walking, wheeling and cycling facilities
- network planning
- early scheme design
- community engagement and training activities
The active travel funding allocations are made up of the capital departmental expenditure limit and resource departmental expenditure limit which are distributed over a 4 year and 3 year period, respectively.
This funding supersedes the ‘Consolidated Active Travel Fund: local transport authority allocations’ in financial year 2026 to 2027.
