Synopsis: The annual conference for community led heritage regeneration will be held in Belfast & Armagh this year between 27.09-29.09
Details:
The emphasis of the Heritage Network Conference is on the impact of community-led heritage on people and places, explored through the experience of heritage regeneration in our host towns and cities and beyond. It's 3 days of site visits, talks, workshops, sessions and networking.
We explore the vital topics of funding and business planning, community engagement, access and inclusion, governance and succession, regeneration and place-making and so much more.
These are serious topics, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. This is the friendly conference, and we go out of our way to make everyone feel welcome, safe and included. We have a perfect mix of delegates; community heritage leaders, major heritage agencies and funders, local authorities, heritage businesses and early-career professionals, meaning you can Network and make the connections you need whatever your role.
The programme includes sessions on:
- Built to last: Lessons from Local Authorities on collaborative working and network building from Belfast City Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and Heritage Council
- From Vacant to Vibrant: Models for Trusts to Retrofit Historic Buildings into Affordable Housing from Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and Tyne + Wear Bulding Preservation Trust
- Redruth's Slow Burn: How Grassroots Organisations Use Heritage to Recast a Town's Future from Redruth's Former Library CIC
Hotel discounts are also available until August when purchasing a ticket for those needing accomodation for the conference.
The Heritage Network is the UK's membership organisation for not-for-profit organisations, authorities and businesses that are rescuing, restoring and managing historic buildings and places for the benefit of communities.
