Synopsis: This conference provides a practical guide to improving compassion in care on the wards. The conference opens with a national update on compassion in practice and the 6C’s and continues with case studies sessions focusing on understanding what compassion means to your team, developing and implementing a compassionate care framework, embedding compassion as a key competence in nursing appraisal and revalidation, measuring compassion, developing compassion in leadership, learning from patient experience, challenging poor practice and developing courage, and tackling the little things that make a difference.
