Venue: Manchester Conference Centre
Sackville Street
Manchester
M1 3BB

Date: 1 Jul 2014

Synopsis: Jeremy Hunt, Health Secretary announced on 15 January 2013 that the NHS is to become paperless by 2018 and focused on electronic prescribing as a key element of this approach. In May 2013 the £260 million technology fund was announced to support trusts to move from paper-based systems for patient notes and prescriptions to integrated electronic care records and the development of e-prescribing and e-referral systems. The conference will focus on the use of electronic prescribing and medicines administration as part of the paperless NHS.

Details:

This conference looks at moving forward with Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) in a hospital setting. Electronic Prescribing has the potential to support the medicines use process that can be delivered at every stage from prescribing to administration. Electronic Prescribing can provide management of prescriptions and will also give immediate access to medicines information.
