Synopsis: This masterclass discusses the importance of investigating serious incidents (both internally and externally) as highlighted in the CMACE Report 2006-2008 Top Ten Recommendations #9 and #10 to promote accountability, and an integrated safety-focused system in the NHS.
Details:
This intensive 1 day course reviews the role of the coroner as an external independent judiciary officer who provides an inquisitorial investigation for some mortality cases.
This course outlines the role of the coroner in maternal health, both to investigate after a death has occurred, and with the Coroners Rule 43 to promote proactive measures to prevent similar fatalities and improve patient safety.
