Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults in Health Services: Implications of the New Care Act

Synopsis: The Care Act 2014 received Royal Assent and became law on 14th May 2014. Health and social care professionals have one year to get up to speed with its provisions before full implementation in 2015. The Act sets out the first ever statutory framework for adult safeguarding.
This conference will look at improving safeguarding practice in healthcare, and the implications on the new Care Act on safeguarding practice.
Details:
Sessions will cover the Care Act and the implications for healthcare, an update from the care quality commission on monitoring and regulating safeguarding, a step by step guide to identifying safeguarding concerns, taking a preventative approach, empowerment in safeguarding, training and educating frontline staff, proportionality, implementing safeguarding alerts, and working in partnership with social care, and the police.
