Information Governance: Implementing The Government Response To Caldicott 2
Venue: Hallam Conference Centre
44 Hallam Street
London
W1W 6JJ
Date: 12 Nov 2014
Synopsis: This conference provides a practical guide to implementing Caldicott2 in line with the recommendations from the Independent Information Governance Oversight Panel and the recommendations within the government response in your organisation.
Details:
The Government published“Information: to share or not to share” in response to the Caldicott Review on the 12th September 2013. The response states that “the government accepts all the recommendations of the Caldicott report and highlights that while information sharing is essential to provide good care for everyone, there are rules that must be followed."
Health and Social Care organisations should now be putting the recommendations into practice.
"The move to digital records makes it easier to share information with those who need it. Doing so supports the principles of Caldicott 2 “Information: to share or not to share?” in terms of confidentiality, and also Principle 7 of the Data Protection Act – duty to share. Information governance is a key consideration in this digital journey, but it needs to be an enabler rather than a barrier in the move to integrated digital care records." NHS England May 2014
The conference will cover the new HSCIC code of practice on confidential information which is due to be published in September 2014
