Synopsis: Chaired by Professor Paul Knight President The British Geriatric Society & Consultant Community Geriatrician Glasgow this conference focuses on delivering a high quality elder friendly service – improving care, safety and outcomes for older people in hospital.
Details:
Professor John Young National Clinical Director for Integration & Frail Elderly NHS England will open the day with a presentation on changing care systems for people with frailty and will discuss improving care and services for older people, ensuring all clinicians acquire the knowledge and skills appropriate for safe and competent care of older people with comorbidities and frailty and improving integration and joined up working.
The day will provide national updates and practical case studies on areas including the CQC inspection process for older people, improving quality including the elder friendly quality mark, implementing the new GMC recommendation on care of older people and improving patient safety including a focus on falls, pressure ulcers, orthogeriatric care, safe staffing and safeguarding.
