Synopsis: This event provides in depth masterclasses focusing on developing your skills in Adult Safeguarding Investigations and serious case reviews. The Care Act 2014 received Royal Assent and became law on 14th May 2014. Health and social care professionals have one year to get up to speed with its provisions before full implementation in 2015. The Act sets out the first ever statutory framework for adult safeguarding. The conference will look at the implications of the new Care Act for Adult Safeguarding and Serious Case Reviews.
The morning will focus on the implications of the Act, adult safeguarding thresholds and an extended interactive session on undertaking an adult safeguarding investigation/enquiry including critical steps in the process, how to establish matters of fact, making judgements and assessing support and protection needs.
The conference will close with a masterclass focusing on developing your skills in investigation and report writing, including tools and techniques to support effective investigation practice.
