Details:

A new vision of public services is forming, one that puts the citizen at the very centre. The UK is set to lead the way in the digital era by utilising cutting-edge technologies to radically transform the way our services are accessed, commissioned and governed.

Expectations on what public services should deliver are rising. It is not a choice between making savings and meeting those expectations. Costs must be cut by making services better. And this is where digitalisation comes into play. This is a hugely exciting time to rethink how services are delivered so that they are easier and simpler to use. It is time to innovate, to make public services more effective and better able to meet the citizens’ needs first time and every time. A new digital strategy is being developed that will be a blueprint for the next five years of digital public services and helping to drive service transformation with smart technology and data at its heart.

“We must build a truly 21st century state: smarter, nimbler, more responsive and more accessible. The technology exists to do it, and the public expect it. It is our duty.” Minister for Cabinet Office, Matt Hancock.
