Synopsis: This course will provide a detailed overview of the CLCF and how the domains relate to varying levels of seniority. The course will then go on to explore how the framework can be embedded effectively into an organisation to improve leadership skills at all levels and improve the patient experience.

The Francis Report has made it quite clear that improving effective Clinical Leadership must be the driver to integrate the essential shared values of a common culture into everything healthcare professionals do. The report states that training and CPD for nurses should include leadership training at every level from student to director. The Clinical Leadership Competency Framework (CLCF) is a tool that can be embedded into a healthcare organisation to engender leadership best practice at all levels. It has been designed to offer a route of progression for individuals to improve their leadership skills as they progress through their career.
