Pupil Premium Strategy Conference 2023: Improving Outcomes for Disadvantaged Learners
Venue: Online
Date: 24 Jan 2023
Synopsis: Research published by the Institute for Fiscal Studies in August 2022 into inequalities in the education system shows that there has been almost no change in the ‘disadvantage gap’ over the last 20 years, with the Covid pandemic serving to further widen that gap. The Research goes on to demonstrate the lifelong impact this has on pupils from a disadvantaged background. The recent Opportunity for all White Paper places a clear focus on targeted support for children who need it, and the role that the pupil premium has in this.
