Public Sector Event
Prevent and Extremist Ideology
Venue: Online
Date: 1 Mar 2023
Synopsis: This one-day course has been designed to provide education staff with the mandatory prevent awareness training as well as give an introduction to extremist ideology, including a close look at incel culture.
Details:
All Education settings should have a clear approach to implementing the Prevent duty and keeping children safe from the dangers of radicalisation and extremism, with the designated safeguarding lead and their deputy required to undertake prevent awareness training.
Join us for this virtual masterclass for an overview of the Prevent duty, so that you are able to understand your obligations as well as take steps to safeguarding children at risk of radicalisation, including online.
This masterclass will explore the area of extremism, so that you can identify when an ideology becomes ‘extreme’. You’ll look at the different extremist ideologies that pose a safeguarding threat, outside of the heavily reported Islamist and far right extremes. You will look in detail at the increase in incel culture and the threats that this poses.
This comprehensive one-day masterclass will allow you time for networking with peers, with time build in through the day to discuss and address your challenges. You will have plenty of time to put your questions to our expert speakers.
