Tackling Persistent and Severe absence is a top priority for the Government. Since the pandemic more evidence has come to light about the numbers of children who are persistently absent and, in many cases, severely absent, including those children not in school at all.

Schools cannot tackle this alone. In this half day work shop you will look at the expectations placed on schools, local authorities, governing bodies and academy trusts in the new guidance Working together to improve school attendance to support these children back into education.
