The UK’s economic future, jobs, wage levels, prosperity, national security, cost of living, productivity, ability to compete globally and our geo-political standing in the world are all reliant on continued and growing success in digital technology.

The Northwest of England is being primed to become a world leading digital city region with large government funding being injected into the area to help with issues such as digital exclusion, digital innovation, and advanced manufacturing hubs.

From a national perspective, the government published their latest UK Innovation Strategy which sets out the government’s vision to make the UK a global hub for innovation by 2035, this is held up by 4 core pillars:

• Institutions & Places –ensuring our research, development and innovation institutions serve the needs of businesses and places across the UK

Our upcoming virtual conference will showcase how local government organisations across the Northwest are already harnessing technology to improve both public and peer facing services while adhering to the national plans set out in early 2021.
