Identifying needs and provision and monitoring of Interventions for SEND Students in mainstream schools

Venue: Online

Date: 27 Apr 2023

Synopsis: Join us for this one-day virtual masterclass for an indepth look at how to identify pupil needs and put in place and monitor effective interventions.

Details:

There has been a significant increase in the number of children and young people with complex needs now attending our mainstream schools. This has resulted in a difficulty in SENCOs and teachers being able to identify individual needs and put in place appropriate interventions. Alongside this is the difficulty that schools have to engage Education Psychologists and other professionals to support this identification process. The four broad areas of need as laid out in the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the descriptions used in the school census do not adequately describe some of the needs of these complex learners. During this session, Lorraine will explain sone of the difficulties schools are having with this identification process and offer support and advice in.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
SENCOs, Assistant SENCOs and those aspiring to the role.
