Phase 3 of the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme is providing £1.425 billion of funding over the 2022/23-2024/25 financial years, for public sector bodies to install low carbon heating measures that reduce direct carbon emissions from their buildings. 

With Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, in September 2023, estimating it to be 2030 when the majority of new cars sold are electric, and the DfT estimating 52% of CO2 emissions from transport coming from cars and taxis, how can the public sector change their strategies to decarbonise infrastructure and have a sustainable approach to vehicles? 

There are concerns about the UK’s ability to deliver on the 2050 Net-Zero target. Time is running out for the climate and there must be a concerted effort to achieve these targets, so what can be done to reach these milestones?
