Public Sector Event
Transforming Police Engagement
Venue: Online Training Course
Date: 21 Mar 2024
Synopsis: In light of recent events, police forces across the UK are facing increased scrutiny and heightened scepticism from the public. Police engagement is vital to rebuilding trust and confidence in policing, and effective engagement will play a crucial role in reforming the relationship between the police and the people. The new Policing Code of Ethics, published in January 2024, sets out the guiding principles of serving with courage, listening to and understanding the needs of the public, and communicating clearly and openly with the communities you serve.
This Reconnecting the Police and the People Through Effective Engagement online training course will equip you with practical guidance on different engagement strategies and how best to adapt them to your local communities. The course will explore how you can ensure you instil the correct training, leadership and culture into your police force, which prioritises effective engagement. The course will also provide insights into utilising data to better understand the communities you serve. By the end of this course, you will have participated in thought provoking sessions to gain the necessary understanding, tools and strategies to improve engagement and rebuild relationship between police and public.
