Public Sector Event
Drug Intervention and Recovery
Venue: Online Training Course
Date: 19 Mar 2024
Synopsis: Approximately 1 in 11 adults aged 16 to 59 years reported drug use in the year ending June 2022. The addiction, harms and deaths that these drugs cause, and the violence associated with their supply, result in enormous costs to individuals, neighbourhoods and society.
This comprehensive online training programme will give you practical guidance on how to leverage community engagement and resources to enhance the impact of prevention efforts and learn how true partnership across health and social care can improve recovery initiatives. You will gain a greater understanding of the causes of drug use and how best to offer support and empathy to individuals affected by trauma. This course has a focus on how to develop and implement strategies which empower individuals and challenge the stigma of drug use and addiction. By the end of this course you will have improved your confidence and skills when working with people affected by different levels of substance use. You will develop skills to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships for maximising the reach and effectiveness of prevention efforts, and have the opportunity to network with other delegates working in drug prevention and recovery.
