Public Sector Event
Developing a Robust NHS Estates Green Plan
Venue: Online Training Course
Date: 17 Apr 2024
Synopsis: The NHS is responsible for around 5% of the UK’s carbon footprint, and therefore, decarbonising the NHS is a part of the UK’s overall net-zero strategy. In July 2022, the NHS became the first health system to embed net zero into legislation, through the Health and Care Act 2022. The Act mandates all NHS trusts, foundation trusts, and integrated care boards to address the net zero emissions targets and construct a Green Plan which sets out their aims, objectives, and delivery plans for carbon reduction.
This Developing a Robust NHS Estates Green Plan online training programme outlines the key targets of the NHS Property Services (NHSPS) Green Plan and provides updates on its implementation and progress so far. Gain strategies which include greater collaboration and climate awareness in your organisation and upskill your workforce in preparation for meeting net zero targets. Hear from organisations whom have successfully developed their green plan and take back key insights and ideas back to your trust.
Participate in thought provoking discussions around the topic of aligning social value with sustainability efforts and gain the opportunity to reflect on your trust’s needs. Leave the day with an action plan to improve your organisations green plan.
