Details:

Join Westminster Insight’s Tackling Serious Violence Conference bringing together agencies, policymakers, and practitioners to share best practice on information sharingsafeguarding and interventions that can reduce serious crime. Gain the latest updates on offensive weapons homicide reviews, the Serious Violence Duty and how they are working in practice. With increased levels of serious violence across the UK, embedding a whole system approach to tackling serious violence needs to be a priority for health, education, policing, and local authorities.

Learn how to collaborate, design, and implement public health strategies to prevent and reduce serious violence. Understand how to produce an evidence based Strategic Needs Assessment (SNA) including how to access data from across a wide range of partners, identify current and long-term issues in relation to serious violence and understand emerging trends.

We will discuss different regional problems for serious violence and how to embed an effective local approach that aims to target issues such as homicide, gun crime, knife crime and rape. As the National Homicide Prevention Strategy is implemented, discover how police forces can understand crime better, develop interventions and identify where partnerships support is needed.

Highlighting the importance of contextual safeguarding, supporting people living with trauma and tackling the complex causes of serious violence, join us to network with colleagues and peers across health, local authorities, education, policing, and youth services to understand how we can collectively reduce and prevent violence.
