Public Sector Event
Health Interoperability Masterclass
Venue: Hallam Conference Centre
44 Hallam Street
London
W1W 6JJ
Date: 5 Mar 2014
Synopsis: This masterclass provides a thorough but broad overview of health interoperability and clinical terminology, focusing on HL7 CDA and SNOMED CT in particular, as used in the NHS Interoperability Tool Kit (ITK).
Details:
With the demise of the NPfIT and the government mandate that the NHS should become paper-light by 2018, providers are under more pressure than ever to get to grips with health interoperability to support integrated care.
Interoperability is far harder than most people ever imagine. Costs typically over-run. The solution is to understand the problems and avoid the difficulties. This requires a good understanding of how it is done.
This course covers the use of HL7 (Version 2 and V3 CDA) together with SNOMED CT. These are all part of the NHS Interoperability Tool Kit (ITK).
This masterclass is aimed at anyone tasked with how best to implement interoperable health systems or integrated care. In particular it is aimed at those involved in Health IM&T services, who need a wider understanding of how all the bits fit together.
This course is likely to appeal to people with a wide range of knowledge. Those with a little understanding of Health IM&T will find it useful as a broad overview of interoperability; those with more knowledge will find it useful to fill gaps in their knowledge.
