Upward social mobility is a critical component of any workplace equality, diversity, and inclusion strategy.  It also unlocks talent to helps to ensure the success of your organisation.

Adults in the UK with working-class parents are still 3 times as likely to be in lower working-class occupations than those with professional parents*. And a recent report by the Institute of Fiscal Studies, reveals social mobility is facing its toughest challenges in 50 years, particularly with regard to geography and ethnic background.

Join us at Westminster Insight’s timely annual Social Mobility in the Workplace Conference, where we will discuss practical, innovative, and useable ideas to strengthen your social mobility strategies, and enhance the equitable status of your organisation.

The Social Mobility Commission is preparing a strategy paper on addressing the challenges that social mobility presents.  What do we mean by social mobility, and how can we clearly define it, to engage with it fully: from recruitment, to promotion, to leadership opportunities?

How do you effectively collect and use data?  What does successful best practice look like? Genuine social mobility requires an intersectional approach: how can you embed social mobility practices to attract a wider talent pool from across the socio-economic landscape?

The Rt Hon the Lord Blunkett, Vice Chair of the Social Mobility APPG will look at the national picture, the importance of access and removing barriers.  Mark Cheeseman OBE, Social Mobility Champion at the Cabinet Office will share award-winning strategies. Sarah Atkinson, CEO of the Social Mobility Foundation will focus on the Social Mobility Index, embedding long-range social mobility; what a successful socially mobile workplace looks like.

You will hear an in-depth, inspiring, and interesting mx of expert case studies, panel sessions, personal journeys, award-winners, spotlight, and keynote sessions.
